bay very heavy rain, ra rains down to the peninsula, redwood city across the bay and hayward and union city. lighter amounts from san jose, blossom hill road but take a look up towards moraga, light rain. here are the heavier cells, napa just reported a thunderstorm. this morning, look for the stormy conditions with windy gusts anywhere from 40-50 miles an hour. possibility of a thunderstorm. it will change to showers by the afternoon. break tonight but more heavy rain tomorrow. >>> happening right now. chp has both directions. highway 1 near olema is blomd. if you can't, expect delays, there is no estimated time for the reopening of that roadway. >> the wet weather has been causing problems all over the bay area. some of those problems may linger for the next few days. alan wang reports from santa rosa. >> jill stopped at the water's edge west of santa rosa and decided to roll the dice. >> came through a couple of hours ago but i thought i could make it through this time. >> unlike these trucks and suvs that made it across, their toyota got swamped in a foot half of water just like th

here up from south san francisco, daly city, san bruno. pretty quiet in the south bay except for morgan hill and gilroy some shower activity. winds gusting to 49 miles an hour at sfo. a wind warning in effect. and oakland, 36 miles an hour. you can see all across the bay area, santa rosa from 41 miles an hour to san jose. we have the wind, we have the rain, we have a flash flood watch through the evening hours. so the heaviest rain will continue to sink to the south of us throughout the morning hours and the wind advisory is up through noon today. we are looking at south winds anywhere from 20 to 30 miles an hour and we are seeing the gusts already up to 50 miles an hour. so here we are on track to see the heaviest rain from the north bay into the central bay within the next hour. so stay with us. we will keep you updated. carolyn. >> thank you, lisa. with all that going on and this series of storms the rivers are rising throughout the bay area. there's a flat warning this morning for the napa river. that's where abc7 news reporter kera clapper joins us live. how is it looking so far? >

marriage equality in san francisco city hall. i've been waiting for three years to enjoy the same privilege that she's folks are apparently enjoying. >> and also these two who were married before the prop 8 ban. >> there are over 100,000 loving, committed, legally married same-sex couples across this nation and thousands of more to come soon with washington, maryland and maine having marriage equality now. >> san francisco city attorney dennis is part of the legal team arguing against prop 8. >> i am gratified and confident, very confident, that the supreme court, which is now going to be taking up the civil rights issue of our time, will reach the same result that the district courts did and the ninth circuit did, and will find that proposition 8 unlawfully discriminates against gay and lesbian couples here in the state of california. >> in sacramento, supporters are confident the high is court will support the ban on gay marriage. >> i expect four or five justices to uphold proposition 8. why? because the constitution of the united states doesn't have marriage in it. and the tenth amendme

. here's a look at live doppler 7 hd. we have a smattering of light rain showers in the city and along the coastline. morgan hill and gilroy, highway 101, a little bit of wet weather through castroville. we have more weather to go on the way today. it will be on and often rain showers, though. so temperatures once again on the mild side. starting out with mid-50s to about 60 around the bay. and by the afternoon still a chance ever showers, low to mid-60s. it's not until the evening hours that we are looking at the rain becoming more intense in the north bay. i'm talking sonoma and marin. if you have plans tonight you will be in the rain but the heaviest rain when you are sleeping. we will detail the flood watches and the timing of the rain coming up in a little bit. katie. >> thanks so much. as the next big storm moves in, the big concern is the north bay. take a look at this video from outside of the stump down brewery in this time-lapse webcam video. you can see how quickly the river has risen. allen long reports from sonoma county where the national weather service has issued a floo
